Fruit growers: Dotations and coops can help us to face competition
State dotations and connections in sale coops can help Czech fruit growers to face foreign competition. „A state support is satisfactory; if there were a higher organization, we could to face the foreign pressure better,“ said a secretary of the Fruit Association CR Martin Ludvík to the ČTK at a fair Zahrada Čech in Litoměřice. The growers are threatened first of all with a cheap import of apples from Poland. „Although a quality of Polish apples is not good, in trade chains a price is decisive“, Ludvík said. Poland overtook Italy and Belgium in exports of fruits to the CT five years ago.
This year’s wine will be exquisite, Czech vine-growers believe
In the north of Bohemia festivities of vintage start. Local growers believe that this year will be exceptional. “Autumn should be merry and our stum is definitely merry”, Ivan Váňa, a main vine-grower of the Czech viticulture Chrámce attracts to not only Most vintage. “We have stum already for fortnights when we harvested the first early variety. We select in it only the best grapes. It is dealt with a costly and time consuming hand work but all the best the result is”, he adds. Stum of poor quality is an absolute exception “Definitely in case that we buy it directly at growers and not at the only middlemen”, Váňa defend all north-Bohemian vine-growers.
Slovak government suffer from taken land
The Slovak government decided to pay off to unsatisfied owners of pieces of land taken for a building of an automobile factory KIA near Žilina. As the Minister of Finance Ivan Mikloš announced yesterday, the state will pay off over 805 million crowns to land owners and so a dispute about pieces of lands will finish. “We will pay a sum to 350 crowns for a squared meter to everybody. We did not have any other chance and we selected from the bad solutions the less painful one. If we did not make this step, we would not fulfill conditions of an contract with the automobile factory”, Mikloš said.
The Czech Republic has law on renewable
Since the 1st September 2005 a Law on support of energies from renewable resources is in force in the Czech Republic. The law stems from a regulation of the European Parliament and Council 2001/77/EC and it should created conditions for fulfillment of aim of a share from renewable resources in gross consumption in the Czech Republic in height of 8 % to 2010. According to foreign experts it is dealt with one of the most modern law in the European Union. If presumptions of ecologists, that the law will start projects for electricity production from renewable resources, fulfill, emissions of carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas, should decrease up to five years by four million tons yearly. It is almost as much emissions as all trucks in a country deliver in one year. Further the law reduces a dependence on imports of fuels and increase use of agricultural land which now lies waste and it will bring new jobs.
