Madeta opened new cheese factory for 800 million CZK

The biggest Czech dairy plant Madeta started a trial operation of a new cheese factory in Planá nad Lužnicí. It invested in it 800 million CZK. A production capacity je 25 tonnes; it will gradually increase to 42 tonnes of cheeses daily. The cheese factory than will replace an operation old 25 years will produce cheese of Edam type, Madeland, Tilsit cheese and Gouda.

Kommersant: Russia is not successful in replacing imported goods with own

Despite the hopes of authorities, Russia has not managed to replace supply of imported foods with own production, including those which import was forbidden by Moscow itself in a response to western sanctions. European suppliers were alternated by companies from other countries. However, in many cases according to experts, it is not dealt with a replacement, but re-export of “forbidden” goods from Europe.

Small and medium farms should be in centre of European agriculture. So far, they have not been looked at in Czech Republic so much

“Family farms are a fundamental pillar of agricultural basic production in the whole European Union not only for their local significance, security of a important regional production, but also for their huge contribution for functionality of the country, a benefit for local nature and landscape, a natural security of generational renewal, and contribution to food safety in every state”, a vice-chairmen of the Private Farmers Association of the CR Jan Štefl says among others for Euractiv.cz.

What future will pine forest experience in Czech Republic?

The current representation of common pine reaches 16.2 % (422 thous. ha) in the CR which is more than four times of its natural share. Just the ability of this tree species to form interesting production stands even in more extreme habitats, where other commercial tree species cannot be used, was the reason for its historical distribution in commercial forests.
