The government is to decide on a strategy that farmers do not agree with. And right now, we need it the most.

Tomorrow, the government is to approve the Strategy of Czech Agriculture 2030+ at its meeting, a document that is to determine the direction of the entire sector for the next decade. Although it is one of the most fundamental materials for the future of Czech agriculture and the countryside, the Ministry of Agriculture has failed to achieve the basic prerequisite of any strategy – consensus.

The Ministry of Agriculture plans to reduce the area of oilseeds and cereals in the Czech Republic in favour of livestock production

The Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) wants to reduce the area of oilseeds by more than 60,000 hectares to 420,000 to 450,000 hectares by 2033 and of cereals by more than 100,000 hectares to 1.2 to 1.3 million hectares, in favour of livestock production.

Russia has knocked Germany out of the top five world beer producers

Russia has knocked Germany out of the top five world beer producers. Germany brewed less beer last year, while production in Russia increased significantly. This is according to data from the company BarthHaas from Nüremberg, which is the world's largest hop trader.

Budvar's net profit rose to 361 million CZK last year and sales to a record 3.67 billion CZK

Budvar from České Budějovice had a net profit of 361 million CZK last year, by 22.9 percent higher than in 2023. Sales from the sale of products and services increased by 8.58 percent year-on-year to a record 3.67 billion CZK.
