Farmers will receive higher advances for direct payments, including due to weather extremes
Farmers will now have an opportunity to receive higher advances for direct payments for the area of cultivated land or livestock. This is an increase from 50 percent to 70 percent, the change was approved by EU member states. The Ministry of Agriculture announced this in a press release today.
Farmers have so far harvested 12 percent of cereals, a third last year, weather fluctuations affect this
Unstable weather continues to affect this year's harvest. While last year at this time farmers had harvested more than a third of the cereal areas, currently it is 12.35 percent, i.e. 148,599 hectares. The rapeseed harvest is also slower this year.
